Day One with Alice

No, Alice is not another woman. Although she very well may be. As you may very well already know I name my computers with lady names. So this new one is an Acer Aspire One and while in a conversation with a friend of mine the name just came up. Partly because I'm not very creative with names so I chose a name which started with an 'A'. How has my first day been? Read on.

Gadgets and My First Netbook

So, I bought a netbook. Yes kids, I am one of the cool ones now with a tiny device that weighs almost nothing. Read more (and watch video!) by clicking on either the title or the jump. No unboxing here though, read along.

New Memcache++ Client Section

Today I've added a simple page which describes the Memcache++ Client project on the site. This page is dedicated to briefly describing the details of the project and what the project currently needs to move forward. The page is complete with links to relevant project information which should help anybody curious about either using or contributing to the project to see what kind of information is available on the Sourceforge project site. The page offers a means for people interested in paid consulting on Memcache++ to contact me for extending the library for their proprietary requirements.

So if you're a developer and want to help out, a web designer who'd like to pitch in on the website effort, or a developer looking for a cross-platform high performance memcached client for C++, go ahead and check out Memcache++ and see if it fits your needs. I'm available to answer questions through the mailing lists or through the contact form.

Open Source Weekends

It's no secret that I'm an open source software enthusiast. I'm also an open source developer. I love open source software and writing libraries that people use because they solve specific problems worth solving. I also love my weekends. And apparently, the combination of rest, relaxation, open source programming, and getting things done on the weekend is a good combination to have. Two open source projects of mine got some love from me this past weekend and the product has been one open source project release (followed by another quick release) and another just getting more done as the time went by.
